Blue Iris Waltz combines all the blues and some of the purples from my acrylic palette. Included in this painting are cobalt blue, ultramarine blue, Prussian blue, indigo, manganese blue and several magentas/purples. The greenery tied in well as I mixed the Prussian, the ultramarine, or the manganese blues with my standard sap green and olive green. The second photo shows the detail from the irises in the upper left of this painting. Blue Iris Waltz sold this past week at The Greenbrier along with several other small paintings which will keep each other company in a lovely home in Virginia. This painting was a demo I did for the guests at The Greenbrier last Tuesday while I was there - it sold later in the week on Thursday. Your comments are always welcome.
