Greenbrier Daffodils

Greenbrier Daffodils
8x8 Acrylic on 1.5" Gallery Wrap Canvas
SOLD
Greenbrier Daffodils depicts some of the beautiful spring flowers found at The Greenbrier Hotel and Resort this time of year. I was there yesterday and this little painting was one of my demo pieces I completed for the guests while there. I used two cad yellows, Indian Yellow, yellow ochre, cad orange, cad red, crimson and deep magenta, as well as permanent rose to complete the petals. There are lots of lavender and cobalt blue shades in the background, some softened with white and some greyed with yellow ochre. What a beautiful day it was yesterday at this historic landmark hotel - and the guest list was at full capacity too. The grounds are still bursting forth with spring bulbs and flowering trees - a sight to behold. The second photo shows detail from the upper right of this bunch of yellow buds.
