Another of the small gallery wraps that I completed while at Tamarack several weekends ago. I've been using Indian Yellow quite frequently - and it was just the color for some of these sunflower petals. Although a transparent color, when mixed with Naples Yellow, Indian Yellow can be very powerful. It's a real trick to get enough variation in a yellow petalled flower, as we have discussed before! I really like the red violet paired with all the yellow in this painting - and don't forget the pink! Second photo shows detail of the star sunflower in this painting.
