Sunny Bunny

Sunny Bunny
12x24 Acrylic on 1.5" Gallery Wrap Canvas
Ever once in a while I get the urge to paint a rabbit, or a cat, or a mouse - any smallish furry thing will do! I've had the reference picture for this beautiful Belgian Red for quite a while, and thought he would enjoy a seat in the sunflower patch. Maybe someday I will write and illustrate a children's book - about furry creatures, of course! Sunny Bunny was completed while I was demonstrating in front of The Colony Gallery at The Greenbrier over Thanksgiving weekend. He got all the attention as soon as he hopped off the canvas. Winsor Newton's beautiful, transparent Burnt Sienna made bunny's coat just the right shade. Second photo shows detail from the upper left of the sunflower patch. Your comments are always welcome.

Really like your brushwork in "Sunny Bunny"... like the title, too.
