Rose Pose

Rose Pose
14x14 Acrylic on 1.5" Gallery Wrap Canvas
Sold to a collector in Virginia
A bit early for roses, I'll admit, but here are four big white ones that may help urge spring along. Regular palette again with the addition of Quin Rose Deep. I used a lot of Prussian Blue in the green foliage this time. The darkest darks are also pure Prussian. There was a lot of transparent under painting, like watercolor, that was done underneath the opaque white brushwork of the petals. The browns in this painting are a mixture of Prussian Blue and Cad Red Light, along with a small bit of Naples Yellow to create the lighter, sandier versions. The gallery wrapped sides of this painting are painted sage green to match the same green in the painting's background. Email me at catcards@frontiernet.net for purchase details or comments.
