White Daffodils

White Daffodils

24x30 Acrylic on 1.5" Gallery Wrap Canvas
SOLD
White Daffodils was the first painting to sell at our 3-day Easter Show at The Greenbrier Hotel this past weekend. It made a pretty display in the very center of the Spring Room, a semi-circular, sunny room at the hotel. There is a glare on the photo above, but you get the general painting idea, I'm sure. The gallery wrapped sides were painted a light sage green to complement some of the painting's daffodil stems. My regular palette was used on this painting, with the addition of manganese blue and cad orange light for some extra spunk in the flower centers. At the end of the painting process I used a palette knife to define some of the white petals in sunlight that really gave the painting a beautiful look. I love doing field flower paintings, and this one was no exception. Your comments are always welcome. And - this new canvas size is becoming a favorite too!
