Ginger Blue

Ginger Blue
18x18 Acrylic on 1.5" Gallery Wrap Canvas
SOLD
Ginger Blue is an orange tabby who will star in my solo show at Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg during the months of July and August. Reception for "Colorful Cats & Flowers" will be July 25th from 5-8 pm in the Auditorium Gallery directly behind the theatre. You are invited to view the show, share refreshments and talk about art, my favorite subject!
This painting was done with a complementary palette of warm reds/oranges and blues - three of each, plus titanium white. And the usual orange underpainting of a pink toned cad orange by Liquitex. Cobalt blue and cad orange make a beautiful burnt sienna look alike that always works well in cat and floral paintings. I love painting tabby cats because their stripes are such great excuses for vigorous brushwork! Ginger Blue wonders who is prettier, me or the delphiniums?
Contact me at catcards@frontiernet.net to discuss a custom cat/flower painting for your home or office. Your comments are always welcome.
