Gen's Geraniums

Gen's Geraniums
16x16 Acrylic on 1.5" Gallery Wrap Canvas
SOLD
Last Thursday, when I painted with our watercolor group at Carnegie Hall, my friend Genevieve and I decided to paint red geraniums – her favorite. Above is my take on our red geranium idea. I used all my reds and oranges, pinks and regular palette colors. Underpainting was light cad orange done in a random diagonal pattern allowing some of the white canvas to remain unpainted. I loved doing the vigorous brushstrokes on this painting, and after working on it that day, I finished the last details at home in the studio.

I love the soft edges and beautiful colors.
