Foxglove Fields is another small canvas that was completed during my demo at Tamarack two weekends ago. Acrylic has such versatility - the thin layers create depth at the beginning of the painting and then the juicy colors towards the end make for a real impressionistic piece. The second photo above shows detail of this field of foxgloves. Your comments are always welcome.
This past week I completed a two day workshop taught by Jane Slivka - a vastly talented lady with a real flair with acrylics. One of the best workshops I have ever attended. Her brushstrokes are inspiring and the simplicity of her approach to painting in general was a real confidence builder for even the beginners in the class. I highly recommend her classes to anyone even slightly interested in painting with acrylics. Thanks, Jane!
Here is one of Jane's paintings that I especially like, entitled
River Boat, 30x40 acrylic on canvas. (Visit her website to view more great paintings!)
