French Country Blue was sold along with Rooster Riot at The Greenbrier several weeks ago. This rooster looks French to me, with his aristocratic beak and blue shoulder feathers. Not to mention the lavender grass in his barnyard! Lots of warm cad red here, offset by cool cobalt blue and Prussian blue tail and wing feathers. I guess I enjoy painting roosters, much like flowers - because there are endless color combinations and possibilities that use almost every color in my palette - no restraint needed here!
